Aciera F3
The Aciera F3 is exquisitely made, extremely
compact, versatile, and was available with a vast number of accessories.
These machines are usually found with a simple tilting table,
vertical and horizontal equipment and powered feeds through a
quick-change gearbox to the longitudinal axis.
The F3 was produced in large numbers during
the post war period and is one of the most commonly encountered
Swiss milling machines. They employ the ubiquitous W20 collet
in the headstock and are therefore an excellent accompaniment
to a Schaublin 102 lathe.
Of particular note is the cross handle
for rapid longitudinal traverse of the table and engagement of
the power feeds. Later machines (as illustrated) have square
headstocks and a higher top speed (2500 rpm). They are still
manufactured by Texmaco Perkasa
Engineering in Indonesia who bought Aciera in the late 1990s.
